Baking with All Natural Domino Light

Domino Light is a mix of all natural pure cane sugar and stevia and has just half the calories of regular sugar. There are no artificial ingredients. And the reduced calories means you will save over 350 calories per cup – that adds up to quite a lot!

Domino Light is available in two varieties – a 2-lb resealable pouch and a 40 count packet box that is perfect for sweetening drinks in 5 calorie packets.

I was sent some Domino Light to try out. I usually avoid artificial sweeteners, but this is all-natural. And I’m all for cutting calories where I can, so I was intrigued to try Domino Light out. I don’t usually like the taste of artificial sweeteners either so, at the same time, I wasn’t sure what I would think.

The first time I baked some cookies with Domino Light, I made the mistake of not looking at the package first. I put too much in! Oops! The result was some really sweet-tasting cookies. So note to you – learn from my mistake and make sure you divide the amount of sugar by half because a little goes a long ways with Domino Light.

Of course I had to bake something else so I tried my favorite chocolate chip cookie recipe. You know the one from the chocolate chip bag. So yummy! Now I love chocolate chip cookies and generally I’m of the mindset that you shouldn’t mess with a good thing. But I went for it and replaced the sugar with Domino Light. This time with the right quantity.

I admit it: I’m a sucker for cookie dough. I can’t resist it. So I first tried out Domino Light by tasting the cookie dough. I was surprised that I barely noticed the difference! In fact, if someone would have just handed me a spoonful without any knowledge that Domino Light had been used, I don’t think I would have noticed anything at all.

The finished, baked cookies were just as delicious as always. They seriously tasted like normal. Nate came home from work and commented that the cookies were really good. His response when I told him I used Domino Light instead of regular sugar? “Really? I don’t believe it! They taste just like usual!”

I’m sold. Domino Light has half the calories of regular sugar and we didn’t even notice the difference in my baking. And it’s all natural. What more could you want?

The Domino Facebook page has coupons you can print out to save money too. You can also save the date for a fantastic Domino Light Twitter party on August 8th from 8 to 10 pm. There will be Visa gift cards given out as prizes!

Domino Light is not your ordinary sugar and it’s definitely worth giving it a try!

Those cookies look delicious! Your photos really are great. I love that this is a blend of sugar and stevia, since a switch to straight stevia can be quite an adjustment. I can’t wait to try this!

I’ve not tried this yet, sounds great, we don’t use as much sugar since my husband is a diabetic, but sometimes I just gotta have something sweet.

  18. Mary Dailey

I can hardly wait to try this. Finally, something diabetics can use and still have great taste.

I couldn’t find this stuff at walmart so I’m hoping safeway sells it. I’m going to surprise my daughter by making banana chocolate chip bread with this in it to see if she can tell.

I am curious to try these now. I would never have thought to try it but now that you say it tastes natural I will. I have cooked with Splenda and do not like the taste and would not cook with it in anything my kids would eat. I love it in my tea or coffee but otherwise not in cooking. I am diabetic and have seen splenda make my sugar go up.
    Thanks for the review!
